Establishment and development
The construction of the Zhlobin Faux Fur Factory began in January 1976.
December 30, 1978 is the date of the enterprise’s establishment. On this day, the State Commission signed the act on commissioning the first stage of production facilities and the first meters of faux knitted fur were produced.
Over the next two years, the second and third stages of production facilities were commissioned. Thus, the Faux Fur Factory became the largest manufacturer of long-pile knitted fabrics in the country, and Zhlobin faux fur deservedly acquired a reputation as the best in the entire Soviet Union.
With the commissioning of an experimental sewing factory in 1983, the enterprise received the opportunity to more flexibly and purposefully develop a range of faux furs.
In March 1984, the Zhlobin Faux Fur Factory was reorganized into the Zhlobin Faux Fur Production Association.
In February 1993, the enterprise was again renamed into the Production and Trade Association "BELFA".
And from February 1997 to the present day, it is the open joint-stock company "BELFA" of Zhlobin.
